Agentic AI for Business Process Workflow Automation (BPWA)
This course helps Built Environment organisations visualise, digitise and automate operational workflows by moving from passive AI assistance to active, agentic automation. Learners explore how AI agents and workflow tools can support scenarios such as detecting a building sensor fault, creating a maintenance case, auto-scheduling a technician, notifying stakeholders and updating dashboards, thereby reducing administrative burden and improving productivity.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
- Introduction to BPM, workflow automation and the shift from passive AI prompts to active AI agents. Built Environment examples include fault reporting, work order routing and maintenance coordination.
- Map current Built Environment workflows, gaps and handoffs; define triggers such as sensor fault detection; plan user interfaces, approvals, notifications and technician scheduling workflows.
- Tool features, rules, task assignments, forms, reports and dashboards. Learners configure automations that reduce manual coordination, such as routing a fault alert to the right facilities team.
- Build a workflow with triggers, rules, forms and assignments. Scenario: when a smart building sensor detects a fault, the workflow creates a case, checks priority, schedules a technician and sends notifications.
- Debug errors, interpret inputs and outputs, modify rules, add fields and conditions, create reporting dashboards and integrate multiple workflows into an agentic automation flow that reduces administrative follow-up.
