 CFME Tiers

Phase 1 will be introduced in December 2021 and Phase 2 to be introduced in 2022.

WHAT IS A CERTIFIED FM EXPERT?

A Certified FM Expert is an individual who has been assessed to have the requisite skill sets and competences that meet or exceed the national/industry standards and quality of a FM practitioner. There are two different pathways in the CFME scheme.

  1. Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) Track

The RPL track is a special track for experienced practitioners who do not have formal educational qualifications, which will only be available for application within the first year of the scheme till 31 Jan 2023.

222

The RPL track accreditation is valid for two years and must be renewed every two years using the same criteria as the standard track. If a CFME accredited FM practitioner wishes to upgrade to a higher tier, they must meet the normal track criteria and be referred by a higher tier accredited CFME.

  1. Normal Track

The normal track is divided into the degree and non-degree pathways. Tier 1 to 3 requires a minimum Diploma in Built Environment (BE)-related qualification, while Tier 4 requires a minimum 'N' level qualification to qualify for the accreditation scheme.
