Facility Management Professional Course (FMP)

Facility Management Professional (FMP) is a knowledge-based credential for Facility Management professionals, working in Facilities Management (FM) and related industries increasing their depth-of-knowledge in FM topics, employers deem critical. Furthermore, FMP is updated and aligned with the most recent International Facility Management Association (IFMA) global job task analysis, ensuring that it teaches critical knowledge is taught and meet global demand. Hence, participating FM professionals will gain competency in adding more value to their organisations. New entrants can also accelerate the transition into the FM profession.

 

Once the participant has successfully completed all four final assessments, they will be able to submit an application for a lifetime listing in IFMA's credentials registry, share their credentials with current/potential employers, as well as add it to their professional pofile (e.g.,resumes, LinkedIn profiles, email signatures, name cards).

 

COURSE STRUCTURE

By the end of the course, participants will learn topics in these four foundation knowledge domains and skills of FM:

  1. Operations and Maintenance - Participants will be able to assess and inspect facility needs, manage, oversee and monitor Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of buildings, systems and equipment. They will understand the processes to develop occupant service specifications and more.

  2. Project Management – Participants will learn to plan, initiate and execute projects. They will understand the entire project life cycle, monitor and control project performance, as well as evaluate outcomes.

  3. Finance and Business – Participants will learn the essential Finance and Business practices, as well as integrate them into their function as a Facility Manager. They will engage Finance, Legal, Procurement, Risk Managers, and others to maximise decisions for their organisations.

  4. Leadership and Strategy – Participants will learn effective strategies Facility Managers require to integrate people, place and process. They will be able to align the facility portfolio and functionality with their organisation’s missions and available resources.
